you seems to be right in your analysis. Pirco was a business enterprise, and as such the need to develop new products had to be continuosly mantained, in order to raise interest in this tough business. Started as velocity concept it evolved, as you mentioned, to a deceleration one. Energy, Kgen, Entropy, Thoro all make use of deceleration concept. I'm a Syn buff, and I agree with your statement that there isn't better software for velocity handicapping. I have use them all, including Val and Spec, but I'm still going back to the one that I understand , and that is SYN. Handicapping, for me is to process informations in an orderly manner, same way all the time, and most of all, a need for an intuitive approach is a must. We can use any of Sartin's programs, but if we are not able to choose the right paceline, they will not optimally perform as well.
