Definitions Needed ???
I was never really sure if I had a full understanding to some of the following terms as applied to the software we might be using.
I've heard them mentioned but never seen a clear explanation. Possibly, I'm not looking in the right places.:D 1 - Linear Odds Line 2 - Non-Linear Odds line 3 - Fuzzy Logic 4 - Chaos Please offer your definitions to these terms. |

Linear odds line In the programs in the Pl4 sythesis and validator series The odds line is generated in a non linear method In a linear genrated odds line the top score on the primary factors would get an odds line that was base on 100 in the factors that make up the Primary line score if you total up the numbers and the lowest totals would be the best That low number would get the lowest odds for the race and 1 would always be better than two two better than three ect Doc instead uses a non linear odds line by awarding more points for a # 1 ranking and some points for a 2nd and then totaling the line score if a horse gets all ones in the Primary line score it get a 24.5 line score This 24.5 is then usually a 8/5 odds The non linear odds line doc uses does not add up to 100 Fuzzy logic darn it I just read a great example of that in the follow up an I can't recall it right now Its in the 50 - 58 range I will look for it Chaos In 1991 (about) in the energy era Doc started using chaos physics to make his programs He needed to advance his methodology after MPH and Pace makes the race made phase 111 numbers so widely available It was easy to get winners but Doc knew that the odds were going down on horses the methodology only was getting in the past He got forumulas from a book called Natures Numbers and applied these chaos formulas to his programs I hope some one can help me out here after all Im sitting in a van in 95 degree 1000% humitiy and about ready to pass out Really All your answers are in the follow ups and manuals there are no secreat everthing in in there Good skill and I hhope your search leads to more wins GS Bill |

Hey Parts and Bill,
please forgive me if you took my post as a lark. I HONESTLY do not know the terms and didnt want Parts to think I was not seeing his call for help. Bill V you are amazing! The stuff you have stored in your head makes me think a nice nickname for you would be " Little Doc" :) Richie |

We were all spoonfed these terms and for the most part not many could answer them as well. However, Bill made an excellent effort. I myself have an inquisitive nature. The more I know about something the better I like it. It separates the wheat from the chaff. The more I ask the more I learn. It lets me discern what is BS and what is not. |
