This is directly from the Glossary of terms in the Energy preliminary workbook.

Lex-Late Energy Expenditure Percent. The amount of Energy a horse has remaining beyond MED, the Kinetic Center of Distribution.

If you subtract your Med% number from 100 this will get you the Lex%. Adding Med% to Lex% will get you 100% (or very close).

Lex is a confirming factor when track or Matchup Bias indicates the probability of the winner being VERY SUSTAINED. (direct quote from the workbook.)

Some Keeneland Routes for the current meet are good examples.

Your Welcome. These questions help me also. I was looking for this information and came across other things for me to consider. The thing about the manuals and Follow-Ups is that you can re-read them and always learn something new. This has been my experience anyhow.

keeneland is volatile. yesterday, in the rain, the front end was winning like no other day: look at the Ben Ali winner...you really have to stay on top of the energy profile race to race there to be anywhere close to sucessful.

I totally agree, things can change fast and as you say if you through the time to do a track profile you must keep it up to date.

The Ben Ali winner Jade's Revenge won by a nose. The second place horse Minister's Joy was 11th at the first call and 9th at the second call.

The third place horse Mustanfar lost by a head. I included all 3 in this screenshot. Visually it may look like the front end is winning. As far as Energy Expenditure it looks to be business as usual. I had to check this for myself.

The same day 7th and 9th races at 1/16 mile taken off the turf. I am referring to the 04/26 races.
