BAQ = Belmont @ Aqueduct
5 Attachment(s)
On Thursday Sept 15, the annual Autumn Belmont meet starts - however due to possibly multi-year renovations at Belmont, the Autumn meet is being held at Aqueduct.
In their 'wisdom' (NOT!) - the powers-that-be at Equibase (under influence, surely) have decided that this meet's track code shall be BAQ - and not simply ... AQU! The races are run at Aqueduct, the track is Aqueduct, the models reflect AQUEDUCT!! Here's how this affects RDSS (please read to the bottom of this post!): Thing #1 On the Data Centre, when you refresh the Available Card List (Display Available Cards button), you should see a new Track Code in the All Tracks List: BAQ with '(right-click to edit)' as the label. Attachment 50374 To edit the label, right-click on the BAQ line in the All Tracks List and type in the track name (e.g. Aqueduct! - the ! is my own protest ...) Attachment 50375 When you then refresh the Available Card List, you should see something like this: Attachment 50376 You can download and work races from BAQ (= Aqueduct) normally, no problems ... Attachment 50377 Thing #2 Until ... horses who have run at the BAQ track (Aqueduct) start returning, say sometime in October. Then - you need to make an update patch to RDSS for those BAQ running lines to show up properly! :( Here's how: download and copy the following file to your C:\Rdss22 folder (where RDSS2.2 runs from) -- Attachment 50378 This will add info to the RDSS database of tracks so it knows how to properly handle BAQ running lines in horses' Past Performances. That's it! You'll get a notice on starting RDSS that BAQ has been added. If you DON'T get a notice (after trying to download the file) this means you didn't put it in the RDSS22 folder - please try again. Here's a recent article about the Belmont renovations and the interim relocation to Aqueduct for a while: https://www.horseracingnation.com/ne...o_Aqueduct_123 Good luck at BAQ Belmont @ Aqueduct (aka Aqueduct!) this autumn! Excellent work Ted and a smart fix.
Here's my fix. They're not the only track, so I'll just avoid them till the construction is over. Oh, it'll take a couple years, no problem. I'll play GP or OP with larger fields and good racing. Just another SNAFU. They should have asked a few $2 bettors from the grandstands. Mitch44 |
Well - there's really nothing to avoid: it's now Aqueduct all the time - effectively one long meet from now until Spring. Same track, same horses, just an Equibase track code naming convention. You can pass on Belmont (where the construction is, not Aqueduct) - because there is no racing at Belmont for a while :).

Neither one of my favorites. Stupidity at its finest, I'm not one to contribute as it just encourages more stupidity. But hey that's why choice exists. Everyone can chart their own course. As you said Ted those keeping models beware, great fix for them. Nice you're on it like a Pitbull.

When I right click on the track name and put in Aqueduct it is not saved the next time I start the software.

After editing the track name and hitting the Enter or Tab key, then left-click on the edited track in the All Tracks list. That should Save the change permanently for the next time you restart RDSS. I agree you should not have to do that last step. Working on it, and thanks! Ted |
