I thought things might radically change when Woodbine put in the Tapeta. NOTHING like that happened and horse injuries went WAY DOWN.

I worked there for about 10 years as the photofinish camera at both the standardbred and thoroughbred meets. The only thing that really changed was the sound: Tapeta made the hoof noise almost nonexistent.

Until races run over the new tapeta surface start to show up in horses Past Performances, you'll have to rely on the built-in RDSS/TrackMaster adjustments of PPs to today's track/surface/distance just like horses shipping to any other new track. When those races DO start to show up, TrackMaster will typically not supply any Inter-Track adjustments for RDSS to use until they have a meet's worth of data, so January 2022. Until then, it will continue to use the old surface for Inter-Track adjustments.

So -- just use the RDSS high-level numbers and Matchup-related info (Early/Late) like always. And as always, be guided by odds offered on your true contenders, and not just Win Odds: use also the late money tote info - the Tx2/PW% ratio.
