Imports & Shippers

Thanks to Ted for spending some time on the phone and walking me through some of the program this morning - good stuff.

Playing race 9 at Del Mar today (I like to play DRF Race of the day).

The is a import that looks pretty good and is first time lasix. The next one I like is a shipper. Going off at 20-1 odds but stacked up nicely in RDSS and in my own mind.

I would imagine that it is stressful to a horse to be shipped across states let along continents.

Is there any kind of a negative figure to attach to these horses when HC?

Big bonus

Hi Terry

Welcome to Pace and Cap and good skill with RDSS

You will see many shippers at Del Mar.
They started a program called Ship In and Win last year.
It was a big success. If you ship in and win you get a big bonus
added to the purse money

Thanks Bill, that's good to know.

Terry,

The only adjustment in RDSS for shippers is an internal Inter-Track Variant adjustment (ITV) supplied by TrackMaster to equalize different track surfaces to a comparable 'norm'. Depending on their relative incremental and final times posted over the previous year (or completed current year meet), pacelines run at some tracks are sped up, some are slowed down relative to today's track. There is no adjustment made related to relative 'track class', although most people would downgrade an otherwise speedy TUP or EMD (and sometimes GG) horse shipping to SoCal today.
