Daily Profit Objective Per Amount of Bankroll

How much of a daily profit should a handicapper expect to make with a $500 bankroll ?

That is a major problem, handicappers try to win too much per day based on their bankrolls.

Tough question to answer. What do your records show is your roi? For instance if you normally make 40%, than you should make $200 for every $500 you bet. Keep in mind that is an average. You make make $0 one day and $400 the next.

Like what Gandalf said above it depends.
The contributions to this question would be:
Hit rate (How many times your bets hit at)
Wager amounts (How much on a Win bet, Exacta, Pick 3 $1, $2 $50 etc)
Odds (How big of a price is he/she? 3/2,1/2,1/1,5-1 etc)
Bets per race (Bet a lot per 1 race or bet every few etc)
Amount Won Back From Winning Bets (Kind of like #2)

Those factors above play a big roll in how much profit you have with $500 and how far you can stretch it over races over time.

Hopefully this helps. Good luck ScottB!

Ray Taulbot figured $15 per $100. So with a $500 bankroll he figured to shoot for a daily profit of $75.

Taulbot also added that it might be wise to select an even more moderate daily profit objective.

It doesn't seem like much but it's realistic if you plan to stay in the game for the long haul.
