Good mix of competitive steeds in the Whitney. Saturday, Saratoga, Race 9.

im on the 2 pressers here and both can adapt to any pace. both trainers having excellent meet. win....#2 tonalist 4/1........#7 lea 9/2......would love to get these odds......speed horses should back up....and deep closers will have to much to do

I keep hearing Richie P voice in my head "go with your gut". I am torn between 2 - Tonalist and 9 - Wicked Strong as my second choice.

Expect a fast pace 46.8 110.9

I believe this sets the race up for #1 Honor Code and #3 Noble Bird

The 4,5 and 8 are E/P's. I used the last race of the 4 for today's pace (47.2 110.2). The 8 stands out in the early group to me. Cutting back from 10F, I love the early fighting against a fast pace and how it hung in there after opening up a 1.5 length lead. This horse doesn't need the lead either. The 2 beat the 8 last time but the 2 had the advantage of rating off that fast pace. I feel the pace will be different today and so I will take the 8 to win.
