Hou 1-30 Handicapping Help
Can anyone offer some help? My ROI (-0.86) and Win % (5%) are terrible:confused:
Here are my selections, contenders and results for the races I bet on tonight. R1 3,2 Contenders 4,3,2,2B,1 Results R2 5,7 Contenders 3,5,7,2,4 Results R3 6,8 Contenders 3,8,2,7,6 Results R4 Passed R5 6,2 Contenders 3,4,6,7,8 Results R6 1,4 Contenders 4,1,8,6,5 Results R7 3,6 Contenders 9,3,5,8,2 Results Kisha |
If I'm reading this correct all the winners were not in your selections or contenders. Therefore your 5 contenders selected are incorrect. Use Prime or Profit, Bris factors for your contenders. They are within RDSS readouts.

Kisha - I moved this from the Selections Forum because ... not pre-race Selections.
I echo Mitch. Happy to provide $0.02 of advice - let's do this: 1. Post your selections for a set of upcoming races in the Selections Forum. This gives the group a chance to download all the figs including PPs and the TwinSpires Ratings (Prime Power/ProfitLine) for those races, also live or closing tote odds. With this full set of data for your races, some complete advice can be suggested. (For TS Ratings and tote, make sure those settings are enabled on the Config Screen). 2. Read about the 4-Factor Method, here: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13111 Digest it, practice it. You won't fail to include the Winner and often the Place horse in most of your races. 3. Standing by ... :) Ted |

Hi Kisha. As Mitch has pointed out many of our successful members begin by using the top 5 ranked Profit and BRIS Prime Power horses as our contenders. We know that the winner will be there 90% pct of the time[nothing gets 100%]. With that starting point your task is reduced to picking representative pacelines. Practice and record keeping will get you there. As Ted pointed the selection section is a great place to engage other members and hear their thought process etc. Good luck and hope to see you posting in the selection section.

Just a nuance - Kisha DID post (belatedly) in the Selections Forum, though I moved this post to the General Forum. I invited him to post in the Selections Forum before the races run, but mostly as a heads-up so folks (including me) can be sure to collect the TS Ratings and tote on that day for specific rather than just general advice.
I did not catch that data yesterday for Houston so I'll wait to give any critique on his handicapping until we can get some live races to work. Ted |
