Hi Ted

I know I should know this
In the screen shot of Froggys # 2 horse
why are the fractions green
on some horses they are yellow and red

what do these colors mean ?

Thanks
Bill

Bill,

As a convention in RDSS, red colour means the best rank, green means 2nd best rank and yellow means 3rd best. So in the Adjusted screen (showing adjusted call times), the best first call of all a horse's record is coloured red (perhaps multiple ties), the 2nd best green, etc. The same goes for the 2nd call and final call. On a screen where a horse has only 1 (or 2 or 3 races) ALL call times will be coloured - in the case of the horse you showed, all red as it was the horse's best (only) times.

When looking at the Analysis Adjusted screen (pacelines for many horses compared together), the colour differences represent best, 2nd and 3d best tims at each call point among the horses compared.

On adjusted screens, it's one way (currently) of seeing the best adjusted pace of race (including race segments) against which the horse has run.

Thank you Ted

Here is Horse # 6 from today 4/27/08
Race 3 at Philly

first is the horse's past performance
So when I see Red boxes it means its best adjusted
1st 2nd and final times

Next is the 6 against the other contenders
and the Red boxes are the best of these calls against each other ?

???
Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill
Those red boxes are fastest pace of race segments and final time NOT how fast the horse ran (unless HE was the leader or winner at that particular call of the race)

Bill,

You got it right. It's the same (adjusted) screen as Validator and Speculator have had since forever: it shows Pace of Race running times (i.e. call times at 3 points for the horse who was in the lead, not necessarily our horse).

So in your picture, the line chosen for the #6 horse was its 3rd fastest POR (adjusted) but the fastest of all lines from all horses, compared against each other.
