If you look under VDC% column you will note that the 1.5.7.8 all have %s under 3.5 while the 2,3,4,6 all have %s above 3.5. My survey found that you can downgrade the horses above above the 3.5% level and be ok 75% of the time. If you raise the bar to 3.8% you increase that to 79%. Hope this clears up any confusion I might of caused.

Tim ...my VDC % data is very similar . This is for 349 races:

less 1 138
40%
less 2 208
60%
less 3.5 282
81%

Thanks Jim. It's good to know that the VDC % difference can be used to downgrade horses from win consideration pretty confidently.

Really Good Stuff Here

Tim,

Incredible information, and another layer in this thing we call handicapping.

Very much appreciated, as we all search for the WINNER.

Don't forget to cash!

You are welcome Jon. Paying attention to details[rather then just focusing on tier levels] can and does make the difference in wining or losing a race.

You are welcome Don. This is what the site is about helping each other win like the Doc and the others did for us in the beginning.
