The Jimmy V "Don't Give Up…Don't Ever Give Up"

This Overnight Stakes is Race #4 on Friday, 6f on Dirt. Inspirational Title aside, here are a few thoughts on some horses of interest:

-#2, Uncle Brent, an S/P. Narrowly lost last race at Keenland a little over 2 weeks ago. Can be in the mix when the 2nd Call is 44.8 seconds or less.

-#4, CornPiper, a P. Coming off of a bit of a layoff, but 5f workouts are okay. Slight red flag would be that the horse has only won when racing at less than 6f. Most likely a toss out.

-#5 Southern Dude, E/P, though must likely a Presser in this race. Concern with this horse is if it can stay close enough to a horse like Fast Bullet and still win.

-#9, DoinMySongNDance, E. Horse looks to be in great shape as the last workout time is excellent. A concern regarding this horse may be that a 2nd call time under 45 seconds may force it to expend too much energy that it won't have in the tank to finish strong. An intriguing horse.

-#10, Fast Bullet, E. Only one race under its belt, but the last two workouts are good. Will it bounce? Who knows, though if this race were run at SA he'd be the favourite.

#11, Wine Police, S/P. Horse is the ML favourite. Calibrating the final time to beaten lengths of the last race, its Final Time is more like 1:09.51 or therabouts. Odd thing about the horse is that it alternates winning with non-winning. But, if Fast Bullet runs its race and this horse duplicates its last performance, it would still finish 5 lengths back.

Just some thoughts.
