Interesting choice of race Mike.

For those that don't know, Hastings Park is a bull-ring track located in the city of Vancouver in one of the most beautiful places you will ever see, British Columbia. The track has been running since the 1800's.

It is the track most familiar to my father-in-law who lives just across the water on Vancouver Island. At almost 90 he still occasionally hops on the ferry for a visit.

Anyways here is an interesting factoid about this race. It is running at 9 furlongs. If it wasn't for the chute they would have to cross the finish line three times... like Charlestown. Before Sept 10 they have only run two 9 furlong races this year. On Sept 10 there are four of them. All stakes. Probably doesn't mean much except that this certainly isn't your everyday 6 furlong sprint at any other track.

Match'em up boys,
Pook

Vacation

I am posting this here so all the Ontario pace and cappers will see it. I will be in Toronto on Sept. 25-27 and would like to join all of you at Woodbine on Sunday Sept. 25th if possible. If this day works, directions and time to meet up at the track would be appreciated.

I'm not hard to spot. I'm 6' 4" tall. There is a picture of me in the get together section for the 2013 Del Mar outing. Go to page 2. I am the tall drink of water on the right. I will be wearing the RDSS2 cap that Ted gave me.

I'll also be at Finger Lakes this Thursday and will make my way to the paddock from time to time just in case somebody's in the neighborhood.

I echo Pook's comments regarding British Columbia. It is a beautiful place. I lived in the Seattle area for 20 years and made my way across the border several times.

Hope to see some of you in the east.

does not look to me like a lot of speed in the race.Looking for forward placed horses. Thus I will go with the 3 and the 6.

#3 Stanz In Command
#6 Silvertown

both to win only.

As Gandalf said, the winner looks like it should be forwardly placed at this track. I am taking a chance on the #7 to be in good position in his 2nd off a layoff and duplicate his 3rd and 4th race back.

#7 to win and place

Pat

This has got Bradshaw's three in a row written all over it; not to mention the tandem. But, I can't figure it out and I think the 2 is going to win again.

I'll pass the race.

Race could be a little faster than expected and the 1 horse has run against better with two very fast woks at the track. The price is right, my pick is the 1 to win
