Woodbine 11-03-11 R(4) Using Synergism4
This is a very tough race at 8.5 furlongs. This race seems to fit a sustained horse and the pace projects (Fast) The (2) should be the pacesetter and possibly go all the way if he can hold and sustain the momentum he has built up in the early going. I personally like the (2). My projected order of finish would be: (In this order)2-4-5-8 Here are my Synergism 4 read outs. See if you agree. |

These 3 horses are within 5 points of the top TPR Horse.
The Pace of the race should be fast 4 |
Bill..
Is there a reason why you left the #1 out..Being an early horse too ..might turn things around?? mike |

Hi Mike,
I get my contenders from PaceAppraiser. I'll add the file here. Please see the attached file. The (1) did not appeal to me because it has been short on the speed number |

After the race was over I went into my Synergism 4 set-up file and changed the variant type to "DRF" from "PROJECTED"
Look what happened. |
Bill,
What would be the difference between the two? Jeff |
I have to commend Houndog as he was the one that updated these numbers in the program.I sent the program to Purdy and he thought he did an excellent job as well.

Hi Bill
Sorry I have not been able to jump in with some KGEN looks I've been doublng up loads all week so I can take a nice vacation for the big weekend Not a breeders cup fan but it will be fun to watch Bill,l You always seem to be right there with your race picks Do you now or ever wager pick 3's daily double Pick 4's It seems you would do very well with a 3x3x3 bet in a pick 3 Docs quidelines 3x3x3 =$27 for $1 plus another win bet on any horse over 9/2 Bill |

Hi Bill, I feel the same way. The Breeders Cup is fun to watch. I always appreciate your input and very sound advice. Making a living today is primary so your work should always come first. <!-- / message --> |

The DRF Variant is the form Variant. The projected Variant is formulated by the software. The Beyer Varianf is Andy Beyers number. My preference would be either the Beyer Number or The DRF numbers. Bill H. <!-- / message --> |

if you see the charts, you would have seen the #1 getting out to the lead.. What did he do to the #2?...forced him to not get the lead. This is why you ALWAYS leave the early horse(s) left in...he can change the out come of any race.. From what you shown..the 2 would have an easy lead..but he didnt !! The 4 would have been a more certain choice for the win mike |

After making a Variant adjustment, after the fact the (4) came up very strong. Even so, the (4) was in my top 2. I am optomistically very hopeful that Ted is working on a feature that will allow RDSS to convert files to Syn2, Syn3, and Syn4. When and if this transpires, RDSS will be unsurpassed and will be the best software out there.:) |
I e mailed Bob Purdy(really nice guy) about this very subject and he like Tom Brohammer say only put in true contenders. If you put in the early quitters who dont have a chance it will only screw up the readouts.

Even in the “match up”, you start with which horse is going to make the lead at the first call…regardless of whether or not you think it will win. It is that horse’s pace that is the first piece of the POR from which other horses will be evaluated. Maybe that horse will get the lead on a softer pace because it isn't being pushed by another horse(s) today. That's the reason it should get evaluated. If you don’t evaluate the “early quitters” (:)), how do you know if they will quit...…OR NOT?? When the gates open one horse gets the lead. If no other horse passes it…it WINS!! |
Garbage in-garbage out. I will stick with Purdy and Brohammer on putting contenders in a software program.

Here's the question, if an early horse doesn't go wire to wire every time it runs, then it is "a quitter" when it doesn't win? So what do you call a closer that doesn't close? After all, they don't close every time they run, and when they don't close, they just flounder around at the back of the pack. But people have no problem with closers that don't close. And they don't have any problem with closers that close and still don't win. Where is the difference? The ONLY difference is "style". If one horse has a certain style and performs one way, and another horse has a different style and performs in different way, why aren't both horses equal, based on their individual styles? In case you missed another post I made recently, http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7872 there is a link that will take your to it. You might find it interesting. |
FTL,
You are a far superior handicapper then I so who am I to argue.Sometimes I think why keep beating my head against the wall if I cant beat them after trying to for 44 years what's the point. |
I made an error as I was rereading some old e mails from Bob Purdy.
He told me look for the horse that will be on the lead at the 2nd call regardless if he is a final contender or not. FTL seems Bob agrees with you my mistake |
