WOX 10-02-11 Race (2)

3 Attachment(s)
I used this software many years ago and thought I would try it and see
if it still holds up.
Here are the 3 screen representations for race (2) at today's WOX.
The program is Royal Turfs "Ultra Speed Plus".
I'm still looking for the definitions and Instructions for this program.

Bill, thanks for your kind words. It is very much appreciated.

This program is an "oldie" but I'm not sure if it's a "goodie".:)

The (2) and the (9) show well.

Hi Bill..

and yes, its good to see you around too...

nothing against you, but I shake my head with all the jumping around you do with the various programs you have...
wouldn't it be better to perfect one and stick with it?

Partsnut,

Speaking of Woodbine, I'll be playing this race today.

I give #10 a whopping 50% chance to win this race. I'll be keying with #8, #6 and #1.

But 80% of my bet will be Win and Place on #10, with 50% more on the place end.

Hi Mike,

It is my belief and opinion that any program can win in specific instances.
I have perfected PaceAppraiser and have won or placed second in a few contests using it. However, I do find that for the most part there is not one piece of software that I have tried or know about that I feel is consistent enough to use and/or win on a regular basis. This is because all software as I know it is "mindless" and does not take the place of the human brain and cannot stand alone as a decision maker.. It cannot or will not uncover the hidden factors or have enough finesse that is necessary to make a proper decision which is needed to be a winner. There is no quick fix or magic bullet in this game.
As many software providers have proclaimed, their software is just a tool.

A good mechanic has many tools.

Being somewhat of a rocket scientist, I will work a piece of software to death to ascertain it's good as well as bad points and know exactly what to expect from it and when and where to use it.

Hi David,

I see the (4) as the horse that fits the race set-up.
My exacta would be a 2,3,4 box.
I used PaceAppraiser here.

Another Point Of View

Here are the representations from a free program offered on PaceAdvantage.
This is just another interpretation or point of view.
I use the top 4 in each race.
It has been hitting a very high percentage of wins in the top 2

Admittedly post-hoc. Had to step out to buy pumpkins ... :(

Nice call David. Too bad we couldn't squeeze out a little more price.

partsnut 10-03-2011 01:13 PM

The 3rd choice on the free program won (#10) but was not worth a win bet.
My odds cut-off would be 4-1 on any of the top 4.
Chances are you will hope to have a hit rate of one win out of every 5 bets at the acceptable odds cut-off level which should show a modest profit or break you even.
This is the whole trick as with "New Pace". How successful you will be in the long term is another story.
Numbers and impact values are a representation of what has happened in the past. There is no guarantee they will happen again.
Many times numbers and race types are taken out of context to make them work. So I suggest you analyze the stats on the suggested or example tracks and then run the tracks and race types that you choose and see in fact if the numbers really hold up.

I don't choose to play exactas. In my opinion, they are money burners in the long term.

David did a nice job in this race.
