noddub62 12-10-2009 03:19 PM

Richie,

Shouldn't you and Ted limit Barb to one win wager or some limit since you two creators have trained her to be a handicapping whiz?

Just kidding Barb!:) But you'll make the rest of us work real hard just to have a chance.

Thanks Richie & Ted. The contest are always fun.

Night Mares

Mike:

You mean like the kind of "night mare" the movie producer in The Godfather found in his bed the next morning? Dreadful!

barb craven 12-11-2009 07:29 AM

Hardly Budman, but it's going to be fun.

Morning Ernie

1) As soon as Equibase puts up the entries where we can see the field sizes I'll post the race threads here. With SoCal racing probably 2-3 days out. If it's earlier than that we will be on it.

2) Because losing bets are NOT deducted from winnings players might as well fire at EVERY contest race as highest accumulated earnings at contest end will grab the prizes.

Good questions man! :)

how nice of you to name the contest after Billr. So Bill is in his new San Diego place with his sister and brother in law, looking out the palm trees in the back yard at the sunset over the Pacific.
He certainly deserves it. He made that arduous trip, has plans for his new life, and I know you all wish him the best. Brooks and I certainly do. But we miss him!!! Esther Varone

RE: Scoring

"..Scoring:
Please read CAREFULLY as I need your help:
1) When the contest forum goes up each player will start a thread with his/her name and will score their "own ball" self tallying each days WPS and Exotic hits in their own named thread.

**Scores from each Saturday MUST be tallied and posted by the player at the LATEST the following evening (Sunday) by 7 PM Eastern time so I can go around and tally/post the contest leaders by Monday evening. If you fail to update your individual thread by Sunday evening at 7 PM Eastern time your score for that week regardless of actual total will be ZERO.**

2) ALL bets will be placed in individual race threads created by me before that weeks play. **Bets placed in individual players threads will not be tallied and will not count.**..."

Hi Richie..

So that everybody who wants to be involved is on the same page... can u post a sample contest thread that shows your requirements in order for it to be valid contest bet and scoring tally.....

Nice Prizes BTW...maybe next year the top3 can represent RDSS in the DRF Championship...

Thanxs in Advance....

I have a question with the scoring. We have $20 and $24 respectively for wins and exotics for each race. If we win that race, can we use our winnings to add to our bets on the next race, or do we have to keep to $20 to win and $24 for exotics only for each race.

Hi Barb
No we can't parlay winnings going forward. Each race we get just $20.00 for the W/P/S part and an additional $24.00 for exotic wagers - Exacta - Trifecta - Superfecta

Interesting idea though. maybe an idea for next contest?? Mmmm
:)

Scratches?

If I need to post my picks early (like the night before), how would we handle scratches?

Count as a lost, no bet or can we list our primary selection and an alternate?

If choosing alternates it may get a little confusing for the exotics.

Just throwing it out there. However it's handled is ok with me.

Hi Chris
We will NOT be able to post alternate picks in case of scratches etc.

Folks WILL be able to amend/change picks up until post time of the races and at Santa Anita that usually gets us to evening time here in the East.

The process to change/amend picks is to go to your original post in that race thread/reply with quote so your original post is seen and then update with your new picks. Again this process is available right up until post time.

Get an Early Start for Saturday

Santa Anita has posted pdf versions of nominations, not yet entries, for four stakes to be held this Saturday, FYI. Of course we don't know which races will be in contest yet, but you can have fun playing with entries for four races in advance.

go to: www.santaanita.com/stakes_schedule for the entries. Click on the race of interest and print to your heart's content

See you all Saturday,

Bill L.
