bel 1ST...RDSS has the 2b on top...had 2 turf races pulled off since layoff..

good closer , but the jock has only 2 turf races with no wins out of 195 races this year..

i guess thats why hes 11-1

Looking at the first race, I've got the 5 horse, Baystreet Bully on top.

The 1 horse, Munition, could be in the money at a nice price. Winless on turf though, but may be a worthy consideration for those who play exotics.

Hi Mike, the 2B has run well on the turf, no doubt about it. What bothers me is that the horse ran during the turf season, but not on the turf. Why?

I could make a case for at least half the field winning this race. The problem is to make a bet before the race. Hehe.

I'm betting #1 Munition at 16-1 and #4 E Z Dollar at 10-1.

Thanks David, it was a thrilling finish and then to have to survive a foul claim - I think my heart is back to normal.

I'm passing the second race. The third will likely have an odds-on favorite in the 6 horse, August Rex. Maybe I'll try a rare exacta with the 6 on top of the 7 and the 2.

On its BL score, and the margin over the next horse, the 10 looked to be the best bet of the day. I just wasn't taking that price and only watched the contest.

Thought 10's price was about right Charles and 8's a tad big

I would have gone for it at 8/5, but it was 6/5 at 5 minutes to post and I feared it would drop to even money.

Yesterday there was a similar situation with Perfect Casting in the 8th. The horse had a BL score 7 points ahead of the next contender, but this one paid $5.90 which I was glad to take. When I get these races where the BL score is 25% or more higher than the next horse, I usually pounce unless it's 6/5 or less at 5 minutes before the start.
