Ritchie is a great guy and hopefully he and his family did not endure to much hardship.

Richie,

Just pop in the REO Speedwagon song "Ridin' the Storm Out" to listen to and you and Kianti be safe!

Hi hope everyone is all right over there. What kind of storm is it? Is it a snow storm. The storm is suppose to move into Toronto late in the day, but no one knows if it is going to snow or rain.

Good luck Richie. That damn storm came through here late last week and we were lucky enough to dodge the worst of it. They had some baseball sized hail around Fort Worth and a lot of tonadoes in between. It is really a freakish monster. Us Okies don't often see the same storms that are later wreaking havoc in New York. Hope the water goes down soon and doesn't do too much lasting damage.

All the best to Richie, his family and all those affected. I am originally from Buffalo, NY and know something about bad storms. But with snow you just stay inside. This is much worse. Hope Richie is well and back here soon.

Just finish to talk with Richie's Mom. They're fine, some incoveniences with a flodded basement, other than that Mrs. Doris is in a good spirit. Richie and his bro are doing a major cleaning. Hopefully everything will be in order in the next day or so.

Richie,
Sorry about the storm. I didn't realize that it was the same one that we had here in Texas Friday until I read a previous post! It was nasty around here but we dodged the bullet at my house & office. Take care and you and yourfamily are in our prayers.

Morning everyone. Thank you so much for the good thoughts. Heading back to NY in a few to try and restart the heat.

Cleaned out the basement yesterday with my brother and friend Mark. Flood washed away the soil in the front of the house. Bout a 3 foot depression there.

Luckily the water didnt get toi the first floor. there might be some structural damage in the rear of the house but have to wait til FEMA kicks in and sends an engineer to check things out. For now I have to restart the heat and hot water and get the home back to livable condition.

Mom is about an hour upstate with my brother. Kianti is with me here in Jersey

Electricity is working which is good.

thanx for all the good thoughts and prayers and I send them right back to YOU. God Bless all of you and your families!

Richie

Was away and this morning was the first I heard about your situitation. Hope everything works out . Sounds like the water was moving pretty good to carve out a 3 ft. depression. Here in Michigan we have had some weird weather but nothing as violent as you just experenced. Hope FEMA moves quicker than they have in the past ( New Orleans ) . All my best to you and yours.

Richie, hoping everything works out for you. I know basements floods can be a major pain as far as clean-up is concerned. Take care ----- Mike.

my house

a neighbor took this video showing what went down after I evacuated Sunday. My house is the white one with the brown door. water looks to have just missed coming in the front door.

Using this to show FEMA and the city who so far have done NOTHING. My home has structural damage and the whole front of the house's soil is washed away.

just got the heat back again as it went dead yesterday hoping for the hot water heater to come back tomorrow.

This is the link from you tube
safe day everyone. back to the phones

Hello Richie,

Best Wishes to you and your family. Hope you guys are able to fully recover. Sorry about the sarcastic remark I made on PA about the impending AQU cancellation. I had no idea what was going down in your neck of the woods. Your buddy in the great white north.

Hey D!
I woulda made the same remarks not knowing what was going on!

Seriously NO problem amigo. Look forward to getting with Bill and getting the contest going in time for the Derby. I KNOW you are jumping in with both feet and will be a major "playa" :)

I have an army of workers outside this morning helping me and also some other folks on the block that have been devastated by the storm. I feel kinda good because the neighbors are coming to the house thanking me for being the catalyst in getting the much needed help here so quickly. I see the looks of the folks and it goes right into my soul man. Something all the cash in the world can not buy.

still without hot water. hope to get that back early next week. then we need a structural engineer to asess the house. that has to wait ti FEMA makes its way here.

Stay cool D and all the best up the Northway!
Richie

flood mess

hi Richie, I just finished reading about your troubles with the flood from the storm. Gee, I feel so bad for you and your Mom. We had tons of rain and wind here down the shore in NJ, but no flooding.
However...........in 1971 , when Bill was about 12 or 13, we had 2 feet of water in our house from a tropical storm that caused a brook on our property to come in to our first floor. What a terrible time! At that time they were giving low cost loans to whoever had suffered a lot of damages. But we survived without losing too many possessions. And we had a lot of filth to clean up.
Anyway.....very sorry to read that you have to go through this, too. We know what you're going through. I pray that it will all be cleaned up and repaired and replaced very very quickly without too much trouble and cost to you and your Mom.
We love you, Richie. Be strong. Love, Mrs. V and Brooks
