Races
Race 3 at Finger Lakes I will go with 4-8
8 is the speed off a 22.1 and a NTL horse and the 4 can win off a 22.1 Race 4 DEL. WOW!!! can you say speed speed and more speed. I will go with the 7-6. The 7 is the speed of speed 21.2-21.4. The 6 can win off 21.4 46 and is lightly raced. The 4 is also lightly raced and can go 22 45. but we can only use 2 horses. MTN Race 8. 2 and 7 will be the fav. the 2 taking a big class drop. Tom Brohamer once said you can have those horses at 6/5. I will go with the 1-5. The 5 will have the lead 22. the 1 could run him down having run off a 22.1. The Hat once said if your confused on the lead horse count the 1's they run at the first call. Retama Race 3. Will go with the 8 and 4. 8 should take the lead in 21.1 and the 4 maybe running him down. Bob |
Finger Lakes race #3
There are not many speed horses in this race. The 8 is the only true need to lead horse in the race, and the 4 showed a wire to wire on an off track two races back. I am projecting the pace to be a 22.3 46.3. Based on that pace I will eliminate the 2, 3 and 7. The 2 and 3 have shown nothing against this pace, and the 7 looks like after the first layoff he has become a slow horse. I have the 1 and 6 as sustained runners, and I do not think they will be able to catch up, so they are out as well. The 8 will get the early lead, and the 4 will be up close.
My picks for this race are the 8 and 4, but that could change after the scratches or if the weather is bad. |
Delaware race #4
The pace setter of this race should be the 7 in about 22 46.1. Based on the pace I have eliminated all of the horses except the 2, 4, 6 and 7. The 2 and the 4 both battled each other for the lead in their last race with the 4 beating the 2 by two lengths. The opening fractions in that race was 4/5's of a second slower than the projected pace here. I believe the race will come down to the 6 and 7 and so those are my picks pending scratches.
|
Zia Park race #5
I am not real familiar with this track, but I will give it a shot. The pace setter in this race should be the 3. Based on the pace from the 2 and 3 I have narrowed my contenders down to the 2, 3, 4 and 7. The 3 broke his maiden over a sloppy track, then came right back and won an allowance race with some blazing fractions. I don't think he can get those fractions again, but should be competitive here. I believe the 2, 3, and 4 will be setting the pace with the 7 sitting right off the leaders. I think the 7 will catch them all late. My picks for this race are the 7 and 4.
|
Mountaineer race #8
There is a lot going on in this race :). The 1 and 3 are fast horses, but they both taking a jump in class, and I don't think they will be able to run their race here. The 6 only has one race on the dirt, and didn't do well, also he really hasn't done much at all recently. The 5 is interesting, he seems to run fast, but on off tracks and the turf. On a fast dirt surface he cannot keep up with the other horses in this race. The contenders are the 2, 4, and 7. I feel the 7 will be setting the pace, and even though he is not a contender the 3 will be pushing him. I think the 4 will come late, and take the race. My picks would be 4 and 7.

Finger Lakes Race 3
It is easy to center on 8 as the speed. I think he will get the lead but at what cost? Bob and George I agree with your call on 8. Any concerns coming from that outside spot running only 5.5. The turn comes relatively fast. Not as bad as 5 furlongs but...... If he is scratched the race is nothing. I think I will wait to see odds but I would be interested in your thoughts on the above. Pook |
I can see the 8 getting clear, or at worse the 2 path by the turn. This is the second race off the lay off, and the freshening race was at a higher class. The horse inside of him that could keep him from the rail is the 4, and even that horse on a fast track was 2 lengths back of a 22.1, so the 8 if he runs his race should be clear. This is racing though so anything can happen

Fl
Race 3:

Race 8
Pace: 22.3 45.5 Run: OTE Win: 2 - 1 |
Delaware race #4
The 4 is scratched in this race, but I don't think that is going to effect my picks so I will stay with the 6 and 7
|
Scratches
No scratches at FL
Scratch #4 in race 4 at Delaware (I don't think Delaware is in Ohio!) |
Fl #3
I see this race running early with the 8 taking it. The 8 to win....
|
Finger Lakes #3
The 8 and 4 look like the speed here. Based on the start position and the number of times the 8 has been in the lead at the first call, I think the 8 will go WTW.
The 8 is my choice to win. |
Oops...Delaware Racetrack is in Pennsylvania. Sorry. Corrected it. I'm Canadian, I don't know all the details about down there.

Delaware 4
3 and 7 are Early in the 22 range. I think the 7 should smoke 3. Of OTE's I got 6 and 5 of which I will go with 6 which looks strongest to me. 6 and 7 |
mount r8...# 2 win.....should get a sub 45 to run at...saves ground..closes on the field full of early
|
zia race 5. #1 win...only horse to be running close to pars...nice work here..another here with a ground saving off the pace run
|
Ret #3
The 8 is early. All those times he got the lead were in maiden races. The 2 ran a lot of noise in between but the 1st and last race in the form show he can fight against a fast 1st quarter. The 2 is in tandem with the 4 who can close.
The 2 is my choice to win the race. |
