WO Dead Heat
1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to share my good fortune this weekend. The Matchup work beautifully. I was starting to loose hope. Saturday at SA caught a Race 4 YES YES YES paid $10.80, Race 6 Prize Exhibit paid $21.80 and Race 9 Hard Aces paid $17.80.
Sunday was the best I played race 9 at WO and this was the result. I had to share this. The 7 and 1 horse DEAD HEAT. |

Cigar, you've been on a roll man! Last weekend you were the only winner in the Challenge and then this weekend you had all those ones above. Awesome! You just got to wait sometimes for it to click and get paid for time invested. Way to go!
Pook |
And then the dead heat where you collect win and place on both your choices? That doesn't happen too often.

Canada Day @ Woodbine
Pook thank you for the kind words. I have looked at Woodbine card for july 1st, race 3-4-9. Looks like you can get some value especially in race 3, void of speed. Race 9 on turf, if off I will pass.
Any matches playing woodbine tomorrow, please chime in and let's compare notes. |
Cigar, on vacation, need to do a few thing with the wife, hope to be capping by the 3rd race.

I will post my picks in the Selection form.

July 4th Races
3 Attachment(s)
I come to you from the beautiful Oregon Coast where I am spending the month of July. I am in Reedsport which is so small, it wouldn't qualify for a 6 furlong race.
In keeping with my publicity agent, The Pook, I have picked three races at different distances on different surfaces. Thanks so much for your shameless promotion of my weekend Pook. I got a big laugh out of it. The three races Saturday come from Canterbury at 5F on the grass, Thistledowns at 5.5F on the dirt, and Woodbine at 1 1/16 miles. Post time at CBY is 3:55 EST Post time at WO is 1:28 EST Post time at TDN is 3:25 EST It looks like the weather won't be a factor. Enjoy the 4th. Attachment 39083 Attachment 39085 Attachment 39084 |

Tim, have fun in Reedsport. My grandfather was a dairy farmer there in the mid 1900s and my Dad was born there. Accordingly, there are many relatives, almost all unknown to me, that still live there. Regards, Bill |

WO #2:
The 5 and 8 figure to be in front in around 24.3 48.4. They've both had the lead sprinting as well. I think the race will go OTE. My contenders are the 3, 4, and 9. The 4 has run well against a 24.1 and 24.0 but does not have much of a power move. The 9 has a good race against a 24.2 and against a 48.4 at 1 1/8 miles. The 3 has shown good moves from the 4th and 5th position against a 24 and from the 4th position against a 49 at 1 1/8 miles. The 3 is my choice to win the race. Will post on CBY and TDN later. Tim |
TDN race 6
Pace: 22.4, 46.2 Win: #2 Cusabo, #8 Woodland Walk |
WOOD 2
5 and 8 are Early 5 can maintain a 1 lgth lead at 24.4 49.3 113.3 145.3 Any Pressers? Only 4 wants to run 3rd against today's pace. 4 is loser of 3 tandems and is usually passed after chasing. 2 is Sprinter going route. Is fast enough to have the lead at the Str. But, Runstyle would place 2 4th. I'm thinking that is enough energy conservation to make it the rest of the way. All the rest are S closers that want to fight to remain in 7th. They'll need a faster pace than today to be considered. Two horse win bet on 5 and 2. |
Woodbine Race 2
Looks like I won't get the triple today because I have come up empty handed in the first leg.

CBY #5:
Every horse except the 2 is early here. The 6 showed way back that he can run from off the pace but the preponderance of the evidence indicates early on the 6. The 2 has won 3 in a row which is a bad Hat sign. But, they have been trying to get this horse back on the turf. There were two rainouts at AP. This horse has huge fractions from the half mile to the 5 f pole in previous turf tries. There will be no price (if he wins) but I put the race up, so I'll play him. The 2 is my choice. Tim |

TDN #6:
7 and 8 look like the speed here. I'm thinking 22.1 for a 1st quarter. I'm looking OTE. 1 and 2 are slow. 3 used to run 21 and change; not any more. 4 looks late. 5 and 6 look like the contenders. I think the 6 can stay close enough. The 6 is my choice to win. Tim |
tdn
The 7 and 8 are the earlies. The 8 is an ep who doesn't need the lead and iseems faster than the 7. The 8 will have to hold off the 2, but the 8 is my choice to win.

Well, the July 4th triple ran pretty chalky. I regret that. On the positive side, several of you hit two out of three and Mike nailed all three races. Way to go Mike! The charts appear below.
