I would like to find out in the Synergism program you can either use %early or %medium.Which one would be better to use and also how would you apply each of these to a race?Jeff
|
Jeff: A good question to ask yourself when first starting to look at any horse is the following, "Does this horse belong in this race?" The #1 horse definitely does not belong in R4 at CT on 4/30/06. Gary

Miner Moss ran very impressive and won easily with Hello Out There 2nd.Salute the Scott Lake trainer horse is still running after getting in a speed duel with Cyberflash.Jeff

Sorry to all of you out there who maybe wanted to see Spec in action to get a better handle on it like myself. At least Gary came up to the plate and I hate to impose all of the time on Bill and Richie to do so.Maybe someday a few of you lurkers will come out of the woodwork to participate.Jeff

Jeff: I rest my case! Look what happens if you use all of the same pacelines I used earlier and just take out all of the shippers and only keep in horses who ran their last race at CT. Gary

Gary,Yes Miner comes up big and paid well at 5-1 after winning his last 2.The 5 runs 2nd for a 46 ex.Poppy I didnt care for because I knew the 7 who was a 4.5 fur horse would run him into the ground .Jeff

Carole are you still out there?I havent heard from you in a long time and wondering how you were doing.I know you didnt like to post but I remember you really knew what you were talking about when it came to using Val.Shoeless

The balance number if it's lower does that mean the horse favors either early or late.I was looking at the 4 on Miner and I know he comes from the back of the pack.Jeff
|
Jeff: I am far from an expert, but in think that balance is a ranking number. The way I understand it is you take the horse's rank for E/EP and L/EP then add the two together to get the "balance" number. Therefore, it would seem that a high balance number is more indicative of a horse that favors either early or late, but is not really competitive at both. A good balance number would seem to mean that the horse is competitive both early and late. Of course, the size of the field must be considered when evaluating balance. Once I "hid" the shippers there were only four horses left in the in the race where Miner won. Gary

Gary,Earlier in this thread you were telling me I was too hung up on the fractions looking for the match up.Well it seems you were right I was listening to an old seminar tape and Hat and Pizzolla were talking about the match up.They said that position was more important determing the match up.Do you agree and if so how do you use position with Spec.Jeff
