Jeff: First, I love CT and make a fair amount of money there so keep playing the track. Just stop banging your head. I looked over the screens that you posted for CT at 6.5. Based on the information you supplied the screens do not really make sense. First, you would think that horses coming from one turn races would show more early speed compared to horses coming from CT. Poppy and Cyber show better F1 and are best in SC/BL. Assuming your pacelines are good then all three shippers have a big check mark against them since CT seems to favor horses on or near the lead going into the turn for home. However, Cyber has very high MED E and very poor F3 and should be considered a non-contender. Miner looks too far back and is a non-contender barring a miracle. By my count that leaves Poppy and Hello. Gary

Gary,I set the pace call at 46.4 which was Poppy's at CT ,I didnt use the 45 at GP by Sal as the fulcrum.I dsont know if that would screw things up or not.Jeff

I was hoping someone would put the race up in Spec to see how that would fair with this race.Jeff

Jeff: I did your race 4 at CT for 4/30/06 and must admit you must be a aching to bet if you play this race. Here are the pacelines I selected for each horse. Gary

Jeff: Here is screen 7 for R4 at CT 4/30/06. Please note the total energy disparity which makes the race virtually impossible to handicap. Gary

Jeff: Here is Screen 1 for CT, R4, 4/30/06. Again, please note the huge disparity in total energy values. Ask yourself, why are such quality horses running at CT? Either the high energy horses are in poor condition or . . . ? Not exactly my cup of tea. Gary

Jeff,
WHY mess with a race where there are 3 shippers in an 8 horse field? Why go through the headaches and turmoil? It's one race. MOVE on. Don't get stuck.

Races 5 -7 -10 all are sprint races where you have all CT lines available on ALL entrants. Now you can get in and do your various work.

If you need more coverage mill around the tracks looking for your turf races big brother.

Richie:)

you have the 3/1 ml favorite coming off 2 wins sprinting. His speed ratings
64
69

the 7/2 second choice is also coming off 2 wins sprinting. his speed ratings
88
83

If this isn't a tipoff to RUN as far away from a race as possible I don;t know what is big bro.

Jeff: Finally, here is the BL-BL screen. What in the world is the #1 horse doing at CT? Notice the wide disparity in speed ratings. Again, all of this makes for a very troubling race to bet. I suspect that one of the CT horses will win the race, but that would be pure gambling. I prefer to do my best to invest and would strongly suggest passing the race. Gary

Gary,Thanks a bunch for putting that up as you know Im not familiar with Spec and that helps a bit to understand .I have been thinking about what you,Richie and Purdy told me about playing a race with too many unknowns and have come to the conclusion you are right.Unless I can find a race where I know I can definitely throw out these shippers it's el paso for me.I wish more Spec users would post some races not the pacelines they picked but just the screen shots they use .It would be of great help to the few of us who are not up to speed with the newer programs.Jeff
