Plus, I was spending way too much time on the race trying to force a play. Normally I would have just quickly passed, but seeing as we are all play AQI I thought I'd join the party, if at all possible.

I''ve been guilty of that also. I've been going back over my plays and notes and have made a few decisions.

I'm weak on low level claimers, yet I've pursued them of late, thinking that I'll catch a price. For the time being, no more 7.5-12K claimers. I'm not even going to work them out just to add to my spreadsheet. They're only adding noise to my data through their very inconsistency.

No more constant flipping between RDSS screens trying to force a wager. If it's not there, it's not there. I'm looking for horses that can run within their own comfort level and at the same time, trying to remain in my own comfort zone also.

I may not make another wager today. I hit on my only one at 9/2. If I can do that at just a 25% win level, I can stay well ahead of the game as long as the longest potential losing streak doesn't wipe me out.

Not that I'll be satisfied with 25% winners. But I'm going to accentuate my positives and eliminate my negatives as the song says.

25% is more than sufficient if your win mutuel is satisfactory. The best handicapper I know has a hit rate under 20%. And he passes a lot of races.
