One of the best handicapper wagerers I ever met, a nondescript real estate salesman (now deceased) who set me straight years ago with a simple VERY TRUE statement. Don't interchange wishful thinking with reality. If that horse is the best, it will most likely win and the odds are poor, so pass the race.

He was the first who promoted shopping for races and letting go of trying to put the round peg in the square hole in changing what is right there in front of you.

mikesal57 03-31-2009 02:55 PM

WOW..didu see that??

UGH at Tampa 6th.

Tim Y 03-31-2009 03:04 PM

In my youth, thinking I had the racing game ALL FIGURED OUT. I am at Del Mar with, for me, at that time, a HUGE wager on a good one named Atomic Wings.

They hit the lane with my horse charging to the lead and opens by 5. So the rookie I was, It turned to get my payout BEFORE the horse crossed the wire. All at once I heard a collective gasp and turn just in time to see the rider 8 feet in the air and the horse going down (knocked him cold) into the hedge along the turf course. Four legs with three white stockings stuck straight up for a few minutes until he came to and ran off down the turf course. Ducked in from right handed whipping just like that one.

LESSON????? DON"T count your money before a race is over EVER.

8th race at lovely Philadelphia Park in greater Bensalem, Pa.

hi all:

#5 Conquer The Fear is my call and should benefit from turn-back.

NY-based trainer has done well shipping down from Big Apple, and puts rider Hector ramos on most of his live ones;

for a price throwing in #1 and #3 to make a (hopefully) juicy exacta box

Good luck to all

Tim Y 03-31-2009 03:33 PM

:2: :6: WITH :5: underneath eight might take this field a few furlongs as well but should fold

HANA - Procott Race: Will Rogers Downs Race #6

2 Attachment(s)
Well, to all those legions of RDSS users who downloaded Will Rogers Downs today (WRD) to work the HANA Race #6 'make-a-big-splash-in-a-small-pool' event (all 5 of you) - it looks like RDSS doesn't know about WRD and won't let you handicap races there. :o:o Unless you know the programmer, though... (Still works in Spec and Val).

Here's what it looks like to me:

Attachment 15806

Premier Turf Club carries WRD today.

Stinky day at Philly

for me ...

Whenever trainer Jack Fisher wins at Philly most of the regulars lose, and today this low-percentage trainer won two races!!

A bad day at the track is still better than a good day most elsewhere
