Rich: I'm swamped at work but I'm going to give this a shot. If I don't respond to a segment quickly enough, just move on w/o me. I don't want to hold folks up. Thanks for teaching. Lou.

Based on Jim's RS definitions:

Early (E) - On the lead at the first call. I rank a horse an E if they have never passed a horse

Early Presser (EP) - 2nd or 3rd position less than 1 length off the leader at the first call.

Presser (P) - 3rd to 5th position at first call moving to within one length of leader at the second call.

Sustained (S) - Everything else

Here we go:

1-P in his only ft route
2-S (not much form)
3-P and S in his 2 ft routes
4-S (not much form)

6-S (not much form)
7-S or P (in 3 of 4 ft routes he is S (one with no form). Bottom ft route he is close enough to a P)
8-E or EP or P in his sprints
9-S (not much form)
10-S
11-S (not much form)

Jimmy Matchup 2 p12:
"Horses with hidden early speed are where the match up finds horses that are overlooked by most handicappers. To identify these horses it is necessary to explore the total past performances of the horse."

Is the 8 an example of this?

How to best match using raw times.

1)P as a router. When sprinting he needs 7f to get close.
2)NF
3)S/P
4)NF
6)NF
7)P on dirt at Suffolk
8)EP and one race as S
9)NF
