Thanks mike...
That was a nice trifecta signer ($1124 x 3) to welcome me back....if 1 of the top2 key horse wins...and 2 of the top5 contenders covers the other 2 placings we should be cashing in the trifectas and if we have any of the top3 in 3 consecative races...we got the pick3 rolling which makes our win bet just an obligatory one to cover the exotic bets.
re: paceline selection
I dont have a specific mechanical way of choosing my pacelines and its mainly intuitive base on experience because it will differ from event to event but base on my profile the average overall paceline selection have been line1 or line2 but again it will fluctuate depending on the race...
re: track preference
I look at the entries a couple days before and look at tracks (except woodbine since i cant bet it) that will have full fields. I prefer tracks that offers rolling pick3's and trifectas since its my main staple to attack and hope we get a fast track because i am the worse at handicapping when there is an off track. At this moment Ded and Penn racetracks have had good offerings during weeknites but the major tracks during the weekday have been dicey due to weather and in california's case..horse shortages which affect field sizes.
